'Siren Country', David Collins
Art history is chock full of myths and mythology. From Titian's meticulous portrayals of Greek gods through Picasso's self-referential Minotaurs to the carefully crafted "myth of the artist" surrounding the likes of Warhol, Beuys and Barney. But what (if anything) does Zeus and Co. have to say about the modern world?
The answer to this question will be the central point of Mythology; an exhibition of new works by six of Perth's most exciting up-and-coming artists including David Collins, Simon Boxer and Tanya De Souza-Meally. With each artist bringing their own preferred medium and interpretation of the theme to the mix expect to see a varied selection of pieces on display. Space-Droners Solar Barge take care of the aural side of things and there's light refreshments for all. Be there or be a rotten medusa.

SixThousand is a subcultural guide to Perth, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Perth writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence SixThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
