The Renaissance Woman is as well-read as she is witty. She dabbles in bookbinding and gardening and small business operation. She knows how to make gingerbread houses and install built-in furniture. She pours concrete, curates light installations, and makes curry paste from scratch. She is so goddam cultured it makes her sick.
But what of cultural nous when your butt cheeks aren't being hugged by patootie-skimming burgundy hotpants? What merriment is the Brendan Huntley opening when you can't match your champers to a make-up-coloured culotte jumpsuit? What self-respecting RW would read Brautigan on the beach in anything but a TV-embossed perforated kaftan? RW would love to whip out her plastic on a real life shopping counter somewhere, but i-cal says no, sorry lady, you're with me (evil laugh).
Thankfully, Ingrid and Moni have put their IT hats on and invented the TV online store - so that the RW can dedicate more precious minutes to bronze sculpture or modular origami, and the rest of us can just be lazier and better dressed.
And now that TV's online, it is also ON SALE. My favourite kind of 'on' (apart from 'on holiday'). Winter stock will be 50% off until the very last knitted turban gets nabbed from cyberland, and then the eagerly anticipated SS09 'army dreamers' collection will drop this Friday (!!!!!).
