So that plan of yours you told us about for this Saturday? The one that involved you rubbing some black shoe polish under your eyes, ripping up a pair of black pantyhose and wearing it as a top, roping 2L milk containers (spraypainted silver) to the underside of your feet, before heading out to a dingy bar to get photographed in corners...sounded fairly cutting-edge-fashionable of you.
No really, we're impressed. But we can't help but take our hats off to the kids who have sat in classes for three years so they can make you some hot shit to wear in case your Galliano Hi-Lo cobbler attempts don't work out, or if the aluminium foil roll runs out before your home made Gareth Pugh interpretation is complete. Which is why we'll be front centre at BARE this Saturday, paying attention to the third year ECU students' idea of fashion, instead of sitting in your bedroom with you as you contemplate whether that cream shagpile rug would work as a fur coat with a few tucks on the Janome.
(p.s. SixThousand's STREET photographer will be there pre-show, so you might actually want to whack on a bit of black shoe polish and stand in the corner, after all...)

SixThousand is a subcultural guide to Perth, published daily and fired by email weekly. It is compiled by an amorphous gaggle of Perth writers, stylists, designers and photographers who all like huddling under that big umbrella we like to call creativity. Without editorial independence SixThousand has nothing. All editorial you read is featured because it's worth it - not because it's paid for.
